Ghana Traders Strike to Protest Against Inflation
Traders in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, have begun several days of strike action in protest against worsening economic conditions.
Ghana's currency has fallen sharply in value this year and annual inflation has climbed to 37%.
The government of President Nana Akufo-Addo has blamed the problems on global factors, including the Covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
On Monday, university teachers in Ghana began a strike, complaining that a vehicle allowance had not been paid.
