Media Reports of Stolen Money at CBN False Say Spokesperson

Articles and audio clips have been circulating that show the CBN Governor and other senior officials discussing discrepancies in the bank’s accounts.

However, the Director of Corporate Communications at CBN, Mr Isaac Okoroafor has said that no money is missing.

Okoroafor has said that the audio was ‘distorted’ in a manner than creates a ‘different impression’ of what’s being discussed, which he states was to proffer solutions to a misunderstanding that affected the Bank’s balance sheet.

Okoroafor urged Nigerians to disregard the audio and continue to trust that the Bank is doing everything it could to represent their interests in the best possible way.

They will be pursuing those responsible for leaking the wiretapped conversation between the Governor and Senior Officials.
