Microsoft promises to train millions of Nigerians

Tech giant Microsoft and the Nigerian government are collaborating with the aim of creating about 27,000 new digital jobs over the next three years.

Microsoft President Brad Smith said in a joint statement with the Nigerian government that they will use 1,700 trainers to train five million Nigerians.

They also promised to improve internet connectivity by installing high speed internet infrastructure in six regions of the country. 

The company says it also intends to use artificial intelligence to help detect corruption.

Nigeria’s Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo said on Monday that the programme would start within the next few months.
