Power Restored After Nationwide Blackout in Nigeria
Nigeria's electricity has been restored following a nationwide blackout due to a fire, on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Residents in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States were heavily impacted. The collapse of the grid was confirmed by electricity distribution companies.
This latest grid collapse occurred soon after claims by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) of 400 days without a system collapse. In 2022, Nigeria's grid collapsed at least eight times, which authorities blamed on technical problems.
