President Buhari’s Relative Rescued From Kidnappers

A relative of Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been rescued by police.

Musa Umar, who was kidnapped in early May, was rescued on Tuesday of this week on the outskirts of Kano in northern Nigeria.

The rescue mission was undertaken by special police operatives, with hours of gunfire reported before Umar’s release was secured. Eleven gang members were arrested and one shot dead during the operation.

Umar is married to Buhari’s niece.
