Tributes Pour In for Nollywood Movie Star Peace Anyiam-Osigwe
Tributes have been pouring in since Peace Anyiam-Osigwe's death on Tuesday, January 09. Anyiam-Osigwe was a Nigerian filmmaker and a founder of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
Describing the late filmmaker as an epitome of creative transcendence, the Emmanuel Onyechere Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe clan described Peace as an outstanding personality, trailblazer, titan, pathfinder, go-getter, humanitarian, one-of-a-kind creative, and visionary leader in the film and television industry. She was also an author with a flair for poetry with three books to her credit.
Among those sending in tributes is presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, who described her passing as a big blow to Nigeria and, most notably, the entertainment industry as a whole while Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, hailed her impact in the creative sector.
