Ghanian MP shot dead after campaigns
A Ghanaian member of parliament was on Friday morning shot dead as he returned from campaigns.
Ekow Quansah Hayford, of Mfantseman constituency, was attacked by six gunmen at around 01:00 local time, according to local media.
An eyewitnesses is reported as saying the MP identified himself to the gunmen during the incident. They shot him twice - accusing him of being the cause of Ghanians' problems, according to Joy online website.
Citi FM radio reports that the driver of the vehicle was also shot and is receiving treatment. Three other occupants were however unharmed.
Ghana is set to hold a general election on 7 December.
