Nigerian state declares public holiday for Buhari visit

The government of Ondo state in Nigeria has declared Tuesday a public holiday as it prepares to host President Muhammadu Buhari. 

The state’s communication office announced that all public workers will have the day off work to allow them to welcome the president.

As part of the celebrations, President Buhari is expected to officially open the Ore Industrial Hub and an interchange bridge in Ondo. 

The President has also been invited to commission special projects in order to commemorate State Governor Arakunrin Akeredolu’s third year in office. 

The anniversary celebrations started on 21st February and are scheduled to carry on until 1st March, according to a programme of events shared on social media.
