41 Dead After Gun Attack in Central Mali

At least 41 people have been shot dead during an attack in central Mali by gunmen on motorbikes, according to local mayor Issiaka Ganame.

The attacks took place in the villages of Yoro and Gangafani 2, in an area regularly targeted by militants.

According to Ganame around 100 unidentified men were seen circling on motorbikes, firing at the population.

The Malian government, led by President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, is seeking to disarm militias but attacks continue.
