Ghana confirms second death from coronavirus

A second person in Ghana has died as a result of COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the spread of the coronavirus. 

The country has also confirmed two more cases of the disease, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 27. The patients are currently in isolation and receiving treatment. 

Ghana has so far tested 317 individuals suspected of carrying the virus. The authorities are now tracking down a further 600 people who have had contact with the infected persons. 

Of the confirmed cases, 20 are Ghanaians - the majority of whom recently returned home from worse-affected countries - while seven are foreign nationals from Norway, Lebanon, China, France and the UK.
