Naomi Campbell champions Nigerian designer at Paris Fashion Week

British supermodel Naomi Campbell showcased outfits from Nigerian designer Kenneth Ize as she closed Monday’s show at Paris Fashion Week.

The Lagos-born designer said the Paris collection was inspired by childhood memories of wearing his ‘Sunday Best’ while going to church with his mother. 

The collection was Mr Ize’s debut appearance at the premier fashion show, though his designs have been making news since they first caught media attention at Lagos Fashion Week in October.

Vogue Magazine reported a “social media frenzy” as Ms Cambpell strode down the catwalk in the traditional Nigerian fabrics, known as Asoke.
